NIGHTTIME MUNCHIES

feature photo

At one point in a CCTV cameras lifetime, it is sure to capture images of a person in the house sneaking around in the kitchen for a midnight munchie. But it isn’t when we munch that knocks our bodies out of sync, but what. Sometimes we just have to have that pint of chocolate chip ice cream and all those calories really add up, so for every craving there should be a healthy munchie that corresponds to it. For example, when you are tossing and turning, starchy foods might help you fall asleep, because that quickly raise your blood sugar also raise blood levels of the amino acid tryptophan, which the brain converts to mind-soothing serotonin. So just because the kitchen is closed, it doesn’t mean we can let ourselves go; the right kind of munchies goes a long way.
